Videoamp - IPO
Videoamp seems to claim that they are gonna go IPO by first quarter of next year. What do you guys think about the claim? PS - I received an offer recently, wondering if it makes sense for me to accept it if they may not go IPO by next year as they claim
@nuttela OP, how did your interview go? Was it the typical Leetcode/system design style? Or was it different. What does the pay look like, if you don’t mind me asking !! Also interestingly, when I had a recruiter reach out to me, they didn’t say/sell anything about an IPO. So I guess depends on the recruiter.

When do you think you might IPO?
Recruiter literally told me that they are going IPO by Q1 of 2022. He said that multiple times. A friend of mine who is a trader looked at numbers and thought it's super fake and that videoamp will likely not go IPO by next year. I googled a bit and found no info at all about IPO
Is the company doing good? Any idea on the valuation and also the total number of shares issued? Got an offer two days back
I’ve never heard of Videoamp but speaking from personal experience, the only people in a company who have visibility into IPO timelines are usually executive leadership and select few ICs involved in the specific activities like audits, writing the S1, etc. Even so, it’s difficult to know when a company will IPO because it depends on the audits, getting the banks lined up, scheduling, roadshows, etc. and that’s assuming the financials line up. Often times recruiters and hiring managers will sell the IPO dream like this to make the paper money seem more real. They very well might be in a good position, I have no idea - but you can do some diligence by asking if they’ve had over 6 consecutive quarters of predictable numbers, double digit growth QoQ, and how fast they are adding new customers.
