How is the work culture at Vanguard? How does the IT work look like? Any insights into work life balance? #engineering #software #swe
It's a retirement home. But, no shame in it if that is what you are looking for...
How's the comp? What's an average senior engineer pay?

Low pay but wlb is good.
Worked there from 2018 - 2021. Great WLB if you’re not on a “core application” team. My first team there had elevations almost every Saturday of the month and on-call hours were also 24/7. Moved to a team developing a data lake in 2020 and it was so much better. No more weekend elevations and since we weren’t supporting the core business there was basically zero on-call issues. Culture was okay. I really liked most of my coworkers and still keep in touch with a few, but I couldn’t get down with the the finance bro culture the business teams were all about. If you really care about developing financial tools, Vanguard is the place for you
