Anyone work there? Interviewed there? Thinking about following a lot of former msft folks there but wanted to get feedback. Share your experiences with them, not your thoughts or opinions if you’re not directly knowledgeable. Current msft TC = 200
Tanium is trash. SMS 2.0 at best.
Very bad press for them. Google it.
What's the TC like at Tanium?
Interviewing with Tanium now. For my role the salary is $160-170k, 100k/year bonus, and 50k pre-IPO rsu's. That's 320k a year TC. I know at least 5 Microsoft folks who work there and they all say it is like working at MS or Google in the golden days. They treat you like a pampered race horse, lots of perks, great teams full of smart, involved people who like to help each other, and you don't compete against each other for review money. Either the entire team makes the goals and gets their max bonus or they get a scaled down version. Your teammates decide/vote your review score.
Do they tell you the salary range for the role that you apply?
My recruiter told me the salary range for my role. For a DTAM role it's $130-165k, $100,000 bonus, and and 30-50k year of owned stock. So 130-165k + 100k + 30-50k = $260k - 315k TC per year.
If you go look at https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Tanium-Reviews-E952409.htm and rummage around you can find the rough ranges for the other positions as well.
Thank you. This helps. Hows the culture?
On glassdoor, it shows the base, so dont get clear idea about stocks, bonuses etc.

I work on Microsoft’s Tanium competing product. There’s literally resources being put in by Microsoft to categorically make “Tanium Obsolete” (CVPs words, not mine) Keep that in mind
Thanks for your feedback, I PM’ed you details. For the broader post - looking at this not as a product compete, but more of an IC career step, they pay way above market for talent and are pre-ipo. Always possible to boomerang back once ATP integrates natural language search as a direct compete. Easier to leave and come back than to wait for promos internally.
