What a callous response; do you have no empathy?
What does that mean? I have empathy for people who were treated unfairly. What I'm saying is, it doesn't really sound like she was treated unfairly. It sounds like she was confrontational and bad at her job and is blaming it on sexism.
Quite sad to read actually, and shocking given how senior she was. Wow.
Her compensation was adjusted higher after the audit, so Carta did the right thing. They just didn't do it retroactively. She escalated the situation which led to her eventual firing. IMO she's at fault here
Im curious on how mismatched her compensation really was, which was the root of the problem it appears - "While on the heels of the report, the company bumped up her pay by $50,000 and provided her nearly 300,000 more stock options in addition to the 150,000 options she was originally provided, it declined to backdate or accelerate the options" - any former carta folks can comment on former or current fmv or compare with other offers non execs get? Bumping it 2x does seem odd
At the time of her salary adjustment + equity adjustment there was a company wide adjustment and review for salary and equity. When she was initially hired her salary and equity were benchmarked for an exec at a company with a 300 million dollar valuation. And the true up was largely due to updated benchmarking for execs at a 1.7 billion dollar valuation. Other executives and sr members saw a similar adjustment in salary. The options were granted at the new fmv The point of the exercise was to proactively true everyone up to appropriate comp after discrepancies were realized.
share your data. especially that white women are any less of a minority than indian women
the F500 is not a representative sample of all companies, or of tech. By definition, there are only 500 companies, many of which are already old and white. Please reconsider your dataset
How about this response from CEO? https://medium.com/@henrysward/the-recent-press-f529be23ba45
Equity for all unless you are a contract employee working for Carta
Thanks for bringing this up. Startups culture is a oxymoron term, culture does not exist in most of the startups. Felt sorry after reading it completely.
