Today Geico is laying off 6% of work force which is close to 2000 ppl. Mostly non- engineers.
Berkshire Hathaway posted it’s highest ever quarterly profits, and now layoffs. Another chapter in the collusion between corporations to wage war against the working class. Regulate these corporations now before all hell breaks loose.
Agreed companies are greedier now more than ever and don’t want to pay employees anymore than 1-3% for raises even if inflation is 50% in some states. Price gouging is a real thing and there are articles citing companies that have been benefitting off being able to mark up their sales for 50% more while none of it is trickling down to the workers!
Berkshire might be profitable but geico posted something like 900mln losses in Nov of last year. Legacy company losing footing to progressive
I just applied for a job there earlier this week lmao 🤡
Save 15% or cut 15%?
Non engineers and engineers as well
I heard most are business analysts and few managers, don’t know how many engineers
Wife got laid off on Thursday morning from Machine Learning side of the house, a lot of politics and personal preferences with mainly females being let go based on "performance reviews" done by Indian managers/directors keeping loyal kissass lapdogs safe via glowing reviews. Not really sure how they expect to compete with such a legacy mindset. And now 3 days mandate even for folks with 1.5h commute in DMV area. Dogshit company, will not recommend
3 layoffs in last year or so.
"Geez how so we can't compete while we shedding talent and giving dogshit benefits"
Yes
That damn gecko
