Currently at Atlassian India. I'm a P40(sde-2). Got an offer from Stripe for L2(sde-2 again). Is it worth switching? I might get promoted in Atlassian in an year. 4 yoe Atlassian TC: 40 base + 15% bonus + 40k rsu per year. Wfh. Stripe TC: 55 base + 10% bonus + 40k rsu per year+ some joining bonus. Stripe drawbacks: bad wlb, hybrid, near 0 chance of hike, not public so rsu is paper money. I also don't want to grind for a promo again. So am leaning towards staying in Atlassian and try for Senior roles outside after an year. Vote and comment! #tech #india #offer
Don't you think That's literally paycut With remote -> Bangalore Hybrid With RSU -> non-public options Level SDE2 -> SDE2
Yes. My thoughts exactly. Atlassian seems better long term.
Yeah take promo at Atlassian and switch to senior roles elsewhere unless if you have any issue in current team or company
How did you get in touch with Stripe, and how was your interview experience?
Recruiter contacted me. Interview was standard Stripe rounds like detailed in other posts.
Stripe gave RSU or ESOP? If it's mentioned as RSU then it's not paper money
It's not paper money, but it's not liquid until they go public or do another buyback.
If they have mentioned it as RSU then you can take it. It will belong to you when you leave also
Can you refer me to atlassian for senior roles? Have same YOE(and on the same boat in terms of promo) and looking for senior roles outside.
Also did stripe recruiter told thay they can offer L3 at this YOE if interviews are solid?
Sure I can refer but Atlassian generally needs 5 yoe for Senior. Stripe recruiter said 6+ yoe is generally needed for L3. It's theoretically possible to get L3 with lower yoe but very very difficult, especially in this market. Don't bother trying.
Bruh. Best Stripe L2 offer I've ever seen. It doesn't get any better than this. How did you manage to get this base ?
Your current TC is your best leverage. Also bring ready to walk away. And maybe good interview performance. Luck. Initial base was lower.

I saw a Googler ( Male ) hit a lady multiple times in the cafe, should I report?
What's the per year comp for both?
Around 80 for Atlassian. Around 92 for Stripe if you include stocks.
Yeah staying looks like a good option. Plus stripe paper money doesn't help even though they did buyback this year
