Facebook or Microsoft - New Grad Software Engineering

I have a New Grad Software Engg Offer from Facebook (Menlo Park) and Microsoft - Lvl 60 (Redmond). At Facebook, I will be joining the Bootcamp whereas I will be joining the Azure Security Team at Microsoft. My Total Compensation at FB: 115K + 40K Bonus + 150K Stocks. I am still negotiating with Microsoft. They can exceed my FB offer with a higher base ( around 130K). I am a new grad with no prior work experience. Which role seems a better fit? Thank you for the help!

FB faster paced and better for learning imo

Microsoft better for new grad. Then move to FB after two years for a giant TC bump. If you do the reverse, MSFT will not grant as high of a TC bump at the mid level without competing offers.

Won't I get the same TC Bump if I continue to be at Facebook?

No way

You are good as long as it’s L60 and the base is bumped. Generally it can happen like they will try to do matching of your base salary with higher levels. The higher the level, the higher is the expectation from your Manager.

Will there be high expectations from me at L60, compared to FB Bootcamp?

If Microsoft gives 130 + matches rest of comp with FB, then Microsoft is a better place wrt finance. It's cheaper in Redmond (comparatively) and you can always come back to FB with a higher jump in TC after 2 years

Facebook will give you yearly rsu's that are around 10 times more than what ms will give you.

Long term FB is better - CV, refreshers, learning curve, faster promos, apart from the fact that culture and perks are much better FB is a no brainer

MSFT first, then FB after 2 or 3 years if they are able to match comp, which they should be able to. Don't stay long enough for the small refreshers to become a problem, though. Seattle is much cheaper

Your income will stretch a LOT further in Redmond than CA. I suspect WLB is better at msft. Learning and career development is more dependent on team placement rather than company. Menlo Park office has a great view of a swamp. LOL.

Any idea of the possibility of getting into desired teams at Facebook Bootcamp?

Your comp will grow way faster at Facebook.

Why are people worried about comp. for a new grad. Go to the Bay Area, enjoy the weather, build career.
