How would you feel about joining ESPN/Disney now? Recently got an offer for a Senior Android role. Base: 145k Bonus Target: 7% RSUs: 35% (Vests every 6 months over 3 years, refreshers are supposed to be every year) Sign On: 35k Cash, 160k RSUs TC is something like this Year 1: 260k Year 2: 242k Year 3: 259k Year 4: 205k Current TC: 192k. 157k Base 22.5% Bonus 8 yoe Having such a big percent of the comp be RSUs is a big change for me, so it's a little weird to take less base. Should I expect Disney stock to maintain its current value (~$98) or fall?
If your current TC is 192K, I wouldn't join ESPN/Disney for 240K TC. With the cable bundling model collapsing, and Disney+ being just one of many streaming platforms, I don't feel good about their future.
Disney+ is just part of the company, right? Parks, movies, NatGeo, etc Or do you think that there would be layoffs if things are ESPN went poorly?
I think the collapse of the ESPN cable revenue will cause big problems to the company, yes.
