Snap plans to layoffs 20% of employees. Hope everyone’s ok. Please help each other, refer, and Dm. https://www.theverge.com/2022/8/30/23329301/snap-layoffs-20-percent-employees-snapchat #layoff #severance
Not surprised. This company always seemed like a one-hit-wonder hot mess.
I think meta has far more going for it. Very doubtful it will end up dropping 80% and laying off 20% of staff at once.
At least Meta is profitable, unlike many companies on this app. Of course, I still don't rule out layoffs, but it's still a very good position to be in

Given your own stock performance. Aren’t you worried for your own layoff?
Nope, i trust Max 100%. Stock price also doesn't affect the company at all -- just potentially employee comp - which Affirm has addressed. We have plenty of cash to weather the recession and we will come out stronger when the markets see how good our underwriting is

Zillow continues to hire engineers. Backend, frontend, mobile, data sci, SRE…
How is Zillow? Heard some not so great things from coworkers who jumped ship.
I have known a few Zillowers and they all seem happy, but I'd be anxious working in real estate during a recession

As a Snap employee I'm pissed Fortunately for me, I'm in AR, so I might have a chance to get out alive on the other end of this I've only been here for a short while. And I've loved my team. Would be a shame if I can't stay with them
Lol AR will probably be gutted. If it’s not a massive money maker you’re at risk.
Snap's bet has been on AR, for a while now. But yes, money making trumps everything The focus areas have been growing revenue, userbase, and AR. But obviously never trust nothing not in writing But I just got here so I haven't lost that much of my net worth like some folks
