Not sure what should I gift my 8 year old who is interested in space, coding, music and talks like a 11 year old! No lego or wii or Nintendo record since he has that all. What else? What in stem? Many thanks
Oh boy!
Get him a Raspberry Pi starter kit!
Which is the best place to order it?
Kano makes good starter kits for children just learning how to code - their RasPis come with a kid-friendly OS (based off Linux or Windows, I think there's options now?) & built in beginner coding projects. If you'd rather get a RasPi without all the kid stuff (so that he can "grow" into it) CanaKit makes a good starter kit that comes with all the adapters/cables etc. that you'd need, you can find it on Amazon iirc. Of course, buying just the RasPi off their website is an option too but you'll need to get the extra stuff & install the OS yourself if you're up to it
How about a starter keyboard and some online lessons?
Something to do outdoors, how about in-line skates or a set of tennis rackets so you can play as a family
White hat Junior
We took few classes(~10) for my kid from White Hat Junior, the whole thing looks like a scam to me. The instructor shows some code, the kid copies it and at the end of the class you get a mail saying kid is in the top 1% and has Bill Gates personality and so on. They do really aggressive marketing but confused whether to continue with them or not.
Total scam. And they keep calling you every 15 minutes to enroll
Since you said space, maybe a telescope
Might sound dumb but some sport gifts or physical activity stuff. They might be intereste/have talent in all that, but if they don’t know how to focus and have discipline to finish things it’ll be worth nothing. Sports are best to help people be disciplined, time manage, and staying healthy, which is all traits a kid needs to succeed at whatever they want to do
Oculus
Tricolor mechanical keyboard
Leetcode premium and a 🍌 from amazon
It’s scary that I was thinking the exact same thing before seeing your post.
