github senior: TC: 340k google L4: TC: 335k confluent senior: TC: 348k roughly 100k /year equity for all Yoe: 8.5 which is better to join considering resume, wlb, benefits, work quality etc
Do you mind sharing the confluent offer breakdown? And what is your current TC?
How are you calculating the Google TC? Is that avg over 4 yrs, or first year comp (with signon and frontloaded vesting)?
Sign-on is same for all so these are good ballpark. Things could change from second year as these 3 have different waiting period for refreshers grant and google might win here.
how do you like Twitter? howโs the wlb? im thinking of joining to GitHub( spent a year at Google), honestly it hasnโt been great in my experience.
Github is a mess right now; go to confluent
How is GitHub a mess?
No offense to you, but too many people transferring over from MSFT without interviewing, an LT that is disconnected from their people and treats them like their personal minions, and a lack of vision to boot. sinking ship destined to become an azure factory. If youโre cool with working for people who have meetings to talk about other meetings, come on over.
Ask github for staff. Promo velo is high there
Those other places are fine if you want a career, but come to Confluent if you want to get rich.
Confluent if you want a chance at an IPO windfall. GitHub if you want the chance of remote work. Google if you want good work, work life balance, but mediocre growth.
You can do remote work at Confluent. Plenty of people with remote only contracts.
