Hey guys, I passed the technical interviews way back in august 2022, and initially the recruiter said feedback looks good for L5. I spoke to a few managers and found one that was willing to take me for L5. Then they went to hiring commitee, and they said due to lack of cross-func experience they wanted to bring me in as an L4 instead, so that manager backed out of the team match :( My recruiter said to check in during Jan/Feb. I tried reach out to my recruiter over the past few months over text (we have texted before so she said its ok to reach out there) and got no response though. I feel like I am being ghosted :( I wanted to ask if there are any HMs here who have any openings for a backend L4 position? I am based in NYC, but I don't mind working with west coast teams, in my past position most of the people I worked with were in PST and there were no issues. I found some roles on the career site that I might be a good fit for, I was wondering if the HMs for these are on blind and would be willing to take a look at my profile in the system to see if I could be a fit? Hey sorry to hear this situation. It seems to be dragging quite a bit. I recently went through team matching at CashApp/Square so want to drop some input: - for your yoe, I think you’re being leveled a bit too low. Depends on your current title I guess, but you should be shooting for L5. I have 4 yoe and was able to land an L6 offer, but I’m coming from already being a senior - there’s a huge backlog of people who passed interviews and are waiting on team match. Unless your interview performance was spectacular or you have competing offers, it’s likely that you are not being prioritized. There just may be more experienced folks and headcount for L4 could be very small given it’s a junior role - I would suggest reaching out to HMs directly on LinkedIn. If the recruiter is ghosting it’s unlikely they will become responsive now after many months. They are swamped with candidates already - teams internally are being very picky. I was initially passed over for the team I was interviewing with but was lucky enough to match with two teams about 2 weeks after my final round. They requested multiple conversations and it basically felt like more behavioral interviews
Your recruiter sucks. When I passed square L4 in over like 2 weeks I had 2 HMs that said yes but would then passed over me accepting someone else, but the sq recruiter kept getting new leads and had me interview with 2 Hm at a time, total was 6 HM and offer approved about 2 week later
