Just learned that a senior SDE at Stripe was killed in an Amtrak derailment. His name is Zach Schneider. RIP 🙏🙏 Makes me think about how we shouldn’t spend too much time working and chasing TC. Life is short. Enjoy it while it lasts. Spend time with family. Go on vacation. Take care of your loved ones ♥️ *also doesn’t mean you should spend money lavishly, duh* (Removed GoFundMe link for his funeral. You can Google it)
Sure, then don’t donate 🤷
High empathy on this guy
He doesn't need money to cover his funeral expenses. He had good benefits, including life insurance. Also had a great NW. Donate your money to those who really need it instead. (Yes, seems cold, but it's important especially in emotional times like this to be rational.)

Couldn't agree more. Sure it's sad he died, but there's hundreds of thousands experiencing this same situation every day and many with far worse financial circumstances. Putting up a gofundme for someone's family who doesn't need the money just seems short sighted if not a bit selfish.
I'm amazed on the number of derailments I hear about especially for a place that barely has any passenger trains. Never gonna take amtrak again
Statistically Amtrak is actually safer than cars 🚗
We should stop funding Amtrak as taxpayers. Yes, you heard it right, Amtrak would not be in business if its not for taxpayers.

TC or GTFO?
Rip, sad!
