Anyone got any info on where the company is headed? I'm going to interview for a Head of Analytics role but I'm reading some disturbing comments about the company. Makes me wonder if I should even consider it as a career move. My next move needs to be a "stepping stone" role so the work I do is more important than money/benefits. I don't want to end up in a place where I'm fumbling for two years doing mediocre work, then being exactly where I am today. Any info or opinions are very welcome.

Are you coming from another media agency? As far as media agencies are concerned, the industry is struggling as a whole, so whether it's WPP or Publicis, we're all going down together! I've worked for multiple agencies within both holding companies, and it really depends on the agency and office you're joining. Some offices are healthy and thriving while others are stale and toxic. If you take a head of analytics role at Publicis (director or above) you'll be respected and you'll have a lot of power, and what you do with that power is up to you. You'll get from it what you put in. You can absolutely use your position to built a team with your preferred philosophy, make positive changes within the organization, but it's also very easy to leave bad or lazy practices in place because dealing with bureaucracy and politics is too difficult. WPP is very siloed. I've seen more cross-team collaboration at Publicis in 6 months than I did at WPP in 4 years. So that's a good thing. Not everyone will be successful at Publicis but I think that you can be very successful if you have a good combination of self-motivation, self-promotion, and expertise in what you do.
