How is it? I’ve heard a lot of turnover is/has been happening, but wanted to get an idea of culture and what people there think of leadership.
No idea on the culture but I keep seeing the same mid/Sr roles posted over and over.
It depends on what department. UX is in a great place and I would highly recommend them because they’ve got great leadership. If you can be more specific about the department, I could give you a better idea. High turnover has especially been true after the final stage of the merger with Expedia. Transparency is a huge issue, as well as distrust. Creative leadership is especially atrocious.
HomeAway was(Is?) an awesome place to work at. Great WLB, interesting problems to solve and the leadership was doing a decent job. Once Expedia bought HomeAway, they got new leadership. I liked John Kim as the new president. He is a smart guy and bought a lot of focus to the company. But now the takeover is truly taking shape. Expedia is demanding that HomeAway shut down its own versions of home owner onboarding systems and move on to using Expedia. Which means there are a number of teams who are becoming redundant super fast. Traveler side of things should be fine, home owner side not so much. That coupled with a huge leadership shakeup, Vrbo is an uncertain place to work at for the next 6-8 months till the dust settles down and the new status quo is set. Proceed with caution.
Isn’t Vrbo Homeaway?
HomeAway is now Vrbo
