go to 2sig or stay at Google
2sig offered slightly higher tc, +15k on Google. i also like nyc as a city. however, i anticipate being promoted within the next cycle or 2, and like my current project/team. anyone know what the career/comp progression is at places like 2sig?

I’d argue NYC office ~ SF office, but NYC >> MTV/SVL. I would try to get a higher pay from 2 Sig. Perhaps this should be done by also interviewing with HRT and Jane Street (both in NYC), and taking the highest offer or getting 2 Sig to match the highest offer. Plus, don’t discount the positive benefits of moving and meeting totally new people.
15k is in the noise
In 10 years Google will still be around, 2sig maybe. It also depends on what type of projects you like working on .

I’m curious about the offer too and am surprised that it pays more... do you take into account the the refresher as well? My understanding is that bonus in 2Sig or alike isn’t guaranteed? (Maybe only first year?)
Yes, first year is guaranteed. In my case that was 50% of the base salary.
Did you get the offer form them? What was the base if you don’t mind sharing? Is this for software engineer or quant? My understanding is the two can result in a pretty big difference in the base and bonus
Ask for 25% TC bump at minimum, 15k is peanuts
What are the hours like at 2sig? I'm betting they're worse than Google so your per hour comp will actually go down.
