is Google intentionally sabotaging Windows ( mobile and desktop) platforms? surely they have apps for smaller eco systems than Windows ( eg YouTube on most smart tvs) so that can't be the only reason.. and given Apple is not going to be nice to google anyways better to integrate more with Windows?
apple is primarily a product company not services and concentrates on only its hardware.. google is a services company that wants to be everywhere. silly to compare the 2. apple barely writes apps for Android is case in point.. why is Netflix writing Windows apps? why is Twitter or Facebook? because they see some market potential as a services company imho
You know, I was going to argue further, but maybe you're right, we have things to gain by not letting Microsoft succeed. but at the same time, why is there no ms office for. chromebooks? would you accept that as a similar enough argument? or is it only Google that has to make everything for everyone?
given it is just browser apps office 365 should work right?
Well we disallowed what ever youtube app microsoft built . :-(
Yeah that was super shitty of you.
microsoft was completely in the wrong and we were right to shut it down. Their implementation scraped youtube.com instead of using the APIs everyone else uses. YouTube is not a god given right; they broke the terms of service multiple times and we shut them down
No, Microsoft can sabotage it without Google's help

Uh oh: President Trump leads Biden 49% to 43% in a two-way race.
third parties write apps for their TV's, not Google. MS stuff doesn't have enough market share to warrant eng investment. Apple isn't writing their stuff for Windows either, are they sabotaging too?
When you say low market share, I assume you mean on mobile, whereas OP was probably referring to Windows PCs (which still have 90%+ market share).
Mobile first, duh. Who uses PCs for most of Google products that are not available via browsers (to warrant apps) anyway? You only build apps for mobile platforms. For the PC there is Chrome and the web and Google.com.
