According to Evocative technical support a #fire destroyed an unknown number of servers at an #Evocative #datacentre in El Segundo near Los Angeles on early morning of Sunday May 21, 2023. The fire was reported at Digital Realty #LAX12 Data Center datacentre @ 2260 E. El Segundo Blvd, El Segundo, CA. Evocative & Krypt call it #LAX10 DC. There is no news from the company, except that after more than 24 hrs they are still accounting for damages. El Segundo PD and local fire brigade refused to comment on the incident. Any inside news?
After more than 3 days of downtime, ETA for restoration of services is unknown. Digital Realty (#DLR) has not been transparent in the cause and remediation of the incident. Evocative team has been granted access to the colocation site in the last few hours, but apart from this, mouths are wide shut. No press or Google articles yet, except a thread of affected clients complaining on Reddit.
