Edit/update: with the counter offer I received to stay, Lucid stock price would have to be $70/share to match my current TC! I am glad I skipped Lucid. ************ Original post: YOE 20 1. Lucid matched by base salary in Silicon Valley. 2. I would take a big cut in TC (40% cut) *UNLESS* Lucid goes public and Lucid share price reaches $50 per share. That’s what it would take for Lucid TC to equal my current TC. 3. Job learning and challenge are much better than current and chance to move out of semi equipment space. ###ipo
How fast do those options vest? Lucid will definitely skyrocket this year but that hype will probably cool down subsequent years. So take that into account
My offer is in RSUs. 1/4 of the RSUs vest in 1 year, then the rest vest monthly over the following 3 years.
Monthly vesting is really nice.
Lucid should have some stock splits to map to cciv.
But I guess we will never know the stock exchange arrangement between the 2 entities (CCIV and Lucid) until the agreement is announced publicly. So it’s almost impossible to put a value on the Lucid shares at this point yet.
Yeah.. Too many variables and don't forget unknown pipe amount
I actually declined my further interview at Lucid based on stories of terrible management. Couldn’t be happier that I declined.
Thanks for the tip. In what function? And I guess you didn’t find out what TC they were planning to offer you?
You rich from coinbase stock yet?
What was the base if you don’t mind sharing? Also now that they announced merger with CCIV, will you consider joining Lucid?
At least I know the implied valuation is $24B. Feels better to have more info on the valuation and I am still considering the offer.
Tough question... 40% cut in comp is pretty tough to swallow. This really comes down to what your risk appetite is. Nobody knows how long the EV hype train will last, it's entirely possible that these stocks will cool off over the next few years, but the upside could still be huge. Don't forget to consider work-life balance... for my role it's not so bad, but for many engineering roles it can be intense, especially now.
For technical roles, when is WLB expected to stabilize in the future? 2022? 2023?
I honestly have no idea. Probably depends on the success and profitability of the company. If the company does well maybe that allows them to justify more headcount and lessens the burden on employees. The planned IPO announced today could have an impact too.
Make sure that the offer you have before the stock split based on today's outcome.
Can you please tell us what role and what was your offer?
What is the vesting time for RSUs offered at Lucid ? Does it vest within an year ? One of my friend got 10K in RSUs and he says it vests within an year. I find it hard to be true when I got offers from other companies where RSUs vest over a period of 4 years.
Decline offer and leetcode?

CCIV stock is already almost 40, but we’ll see at what valuation
Any word on what the valuation might be??
Pretty sure cciv price does not translate directly to price of lucid shares. It does indicate there's excitement about lucid though.
