Financial decision calculators
I am building a personal finance decision engine to help people make financial decisions like early retirement, how much to save for college, home affordability etc. What other types of financial decisions do you want to make, especially in this economy? If there is enough demand, I will totally build those calculators. Updated Tc Tc: currently building startup, so no income But: previously was head of product of early stage startup. Base 185k plus 3 percent equity.

There are individual calculators but not many options for an app that ties it all together. Anyways, do you have any financial decision calculators you'd like to see built?
A couple others - stay at home parent vs work, living in HCOL/LCOL for different jobs/pay
Thanks. I am actually working on stay at home vs working parent so that should be done soon. As for living in Hcol vs LCOL what exactly would you like to see? Can you save more by living in high vs low cost areas for different pay structures?
Basically understanding the financial side of the trade off. Off the top of my head - comp and career earnings - taxes - cost of living for my lifestyle (most COL calculators are garbage)
How much should I invest versus hold in cash/savings, or keep for a down payment, or my emergency fund etc (basically how to distribute the money I have as an investor starting out). Also, a basic interest calculator that lets you input a rate to determine what you’ll make after X number of days - most ones out there aren’t that granular and ask how much you plan to contribute/save each month, when what I really want to know is if it’s worth my time to open a new bank account for a promotional rate (and compare my options). And in this economy, maybe some calculators that relate to inflation.

I have a paydown calculator that let's you plug in an amount and figure out the best ROI option eg, pay off debt or invest in the market or savings account.. would this be similar to what you mention for basic interest calculator, or is it more to compare different banks rates with promotional offers?
That sounds very cool! But it’s more the latter - comparing promotional offers (like “earn X% for 5 months”). Would be neat if you could enter multiple calculations and see them side by side or in a list to make comparing them even easier.
