I have this interview at a FAANG company, the recruiter tells me he can’t fill for my h1b as their internal legal deadline was in the second week of Feb. I am hoping if I can somehow get an offer before March 20(official deadline), it can still happen. Since this time the initial application material required is quite less. What should I do now? Just interview and hope it in the end recruiter will help after offer. Or is it a lost cause? This is stressful as I don’t want to miss a h1b chance. I feel like I am fighting a battle I have already lost. #facebook #apple #amazon
Keep the H1b question altogether aside and prep hard to clear the interviews If you make it before deadline.... All good If you make it after deadline... Your current employer might already be filing... Convert it to premium... Get approval and then transfer to faang (hoping you already have faang offer by then) Worst case you still have 2 more attempts after that.... So don't stress out and enjoy the journey as well I got H1b in 3rd and last attempt in opt... So chill
I missed a chance last time, I have a chance this time and next year. My current employer is a contracting company. They have a lesser chance to get accepted I feel. Also, this contract is risky, I feel they can lay off people anytime. Once I reach May I would have less than 1 year left on OPT, and companies would hardly interview me. This is assuming I don’t get h1b this time. You are right, there is no point worrying and should just focus on studies.
How much time does premium and transfer thing take?
Why would you rely so heavily on h-1b? Even if you get one it’s a temporary visa. You are expected to leave the US at some point.
Did they apply for your H1b in the end?
YOE? Role? How much time left on OPT? STEM or MBA? IMO, why don't you proceed with interviewing, at least you acquire some first hand experience if you hadn't made it.
YOE: 1.5 Time left on OPT: 1.3 STEM Yes, I trying to push recruiter to do it faster, but he is I can’t do it faster and you cannot meet the h1b deadline. So, it seems like a lost cause. All I can do is interview fast and hoping it works out.
