" If you voluntarily terminate your employment within one year of your acceptance of this offer, you will be required to repay the amount of your signing bonus on pro-rated basis " This was the only clause mentioned in offer letter. I quit within 3 months. I haven't received any communication for return yet. Can it get on my credit report like collection agencies do call before affecting score negatively? Tax: 150K #tech #swe #bonus
As long as company does not reach out to you, how are you supposed to know the process details for the repayment? Your former employer has to give you a written notice about the repayment before considering any other steps like collection or hurting your credit score.
Right but thos employment was remote and I do not live in that city anymore. Although they have my personal email address and phone number.
Sorry, you said the months, my bad. Majdur is correct, they'll have to tell you how much and where to send it first, then wait while you don't, then threaten you, then wait, then...
Many companies forget about it. It's their job to communicate the clawback process, not yours to worry about it.
Thank you!
Don't pay shit until you're asked to. And no, why TF do you think your credit will be affected? It's not like the company is gonna report this to the credit bureau or sell it to a collection agency 😂😂. They got better stuff to do than that
I wanted to hear the same, thanks!
Umm I have no doubt big tech companies have several collection agencies on retainer for various purposes. Wouldn’t be a stretch at all. What comes through as a clever on a forum, is actually theft in real life
You would owe 75% if it. How much are we talking about?
I owe ~85% 🥲From my joining date to last working date it's hardly 40-45 calendar days
