Used German Car vs New Honda/Mazda

Both are the same cost anyways! I can get a new fully loaded Mazda at $38k or spend the same amount of money on a used Mercedes CLA with the AMG package. Thoughts? TC: 180k

Depends how much you're willing to spend on maintenence

Ppl forget this

Buy a used Honda and save some money. Japanese cars have lower maintenance costs and are more reliable cars.

Certified pre owned babyyyyyy. Great balance of reliability, modern(ness?), and price.

Ya but the tech is old. Everything... the engine, the screen, the buttons, everything. You get what you pay for in a honda/Toyota.... definitely not the best most advanced tech. Don't get me wrong... only owned Hondas. They are reliable, cheap to repair and relatively good in gas... but they lack everywhere else... in comfort, quality, tech and looks. You are not going to pick up a football cheerleader in a 2015 Honda Civic, if you know what I mean. For 38k (after rebates), can't you buy a Tesla Model 3 ?

Depends on your preference tbh. If you enjoy driving and plan to keep this car as a final car then I would suggest going ahead with a German engine car as it's the best to drive. But if you plan to sell it after a few years and upgrade then go ahead with mazda. Personally I bought Audi and I was in the same dilemma as you. I enjoy driving to Audi as the pickup and everything is great. It's a luxury feel as well which doesn't come with driving mazda (my brother and roommate have Mazda cars). Also keep the servicing and maintenance in mind while buying luxury cars

What makes then the best? I drove both and found German cars to be overpriced, expensive to maintain, and clunky compared to most especially when they get older. There's a reason why you always see a glut of 4+ year old German cars in every car lot -- they definitely are far from the best over time.

Lol if you considering German Used jokes on you mate

I have a German used car. It works great if you maintain it well and drive awesome. I don't see any problem with it.

If you want to the responsible answer its the mazda/honda. If you want the fun and expensive option go for the german car.

Goldman Sachs Cabo dream Nov 21, 2023

Mercedes are more expensive to maintain over time. Why waste your money on one? Getting a Mercedes with your TC is 🤯

Amazon zjsjhfheb Nov 21, 2023

If anything. Consider a luxury japanese car. I've had my Lexus for years, barely any maintenance

My Audi maintenance is 3x that of my spouse's Honda.
