Fragomen tells me: - 2024 Oct: PERM will be filed by Oct/Nov of this year (barring any more layoffs. This is a huge IF) - 2025 Oct: If no delays occur with the DOL processing, and no audits, PERM may be approved by this time My question is, if I wanna switch orgs, when should I do that if I don't wanna lose whatever's invested in my immigration case so far? TC: 240 H1B time left: 4 year 8 months (obviously included the 3 year renewal) Looking for guidance
Before you file PERM. During PWD is fine, which I did myself. The new manager just had to email the lawyers that new position is more than 50% similar to old position. It’s best to play it safe and switch before PWD begins Btw it’s taking 13-14 months now to get it approved
Did you already file PWD?
Yes, PWD is done. I just checked my emails after Amazon comments above
what I know is that No PERM in 2024. Are you sure that "PERM will be filed by Oct/Nov" ? Did you get the email last month about the PERM pause ?
We got it like a week ago
Fragomen is dumbf**k's. They are advising you absolutely wrong processing times. In no way you are going to get your PERM filed and approved in 12 months. As of Jan 2024, the processing times are 13 months. On an average the processing times increase by 15 days per month. So, by the time you are ready to file your PERM in Oct 2025, you do the math, the perm processing times will climb to atleast 2 years by that time. And by the time you get approval, it will be 3 years. Yes, its scary, but just look at the historic trends from last couple of years for perm processing times and you would realize that this is soon going to climb to 2 to 3 years just for PERM
Just don’t do it man. Get your i140 first. You will get ample time to cha ge org and making more money.
So, potentially after Oct 2025?
Yes please wait get i140 asap. Once u have it its very powerful
