Im currently working at meta and I’ve been facing issues with Perm. I recently got an offer at snap, Do you guys know if Snap is filing Perms? How smooth is the process? How’s the culture in general? Im ic5 at meta and getting an offer as l4 at snap. Snap offer is slightly better
They’re both all kinds of messed up, but I don’t think Snap has the same perm issues Meta does and it’s stock has a ton more room to grow meaning you could make a lot more there. More downside too if the stock goes down, but Snap has offered top ups in the past to fix that problem. Culture wise nearly anything is better than Meta (other than Amazon) so I’d give Snap a shot.
I'd tread with caution.. in mid size companies, there is no real concept of pip, you will be shown the door straight away. If you still feel strongly about it, buy snap shares with your salary.
lol
If one doesn't have visa issue, is it really a bad thing to be shown the door right away? Assuming there a some amount of severance. Use the time to travel and then leetcode.
Word of advice: don’t.
Should stay if no PERM issue. But not the case for you, and not the case for me. I just jumped ship last week.
Is meta perm getting rejected or denied?
if you are going to join meta, likely it will be smooth. More a problem for who filed 2 years ago.
idk about other teams at snap but the one i was in, the manager up to the director level were complete scammers. They don't know shit and would never make it in faang.
Sounds like monetisation
Feels like a lot of people are checked out at Snap, don’t blame people though. The leadership here is awful and the stock price doesn’t help
Snap is falling apart
Agreed, if anyone thinks all company cultures are better than Meta - you’re in for a 9 round
Yep, lots of senior IC are checked out or burned out.
