I have an on-site interview with vanguard in 2 weeks. There are 3 parts, a case study, behavioral, and technical interviews. Does anyone know what the case study and technical interviews are like? How should I prepare for them and what is the best way to go in prepared. The recruiter said since I’m on the fence between mid level and senior engineer that if I do really well they will up level me. Tc: 120 YoE: 3.5 #tech #swe #interview #layoffs #vanguard #newjob
Push for the senior dev. I interviewed at a lower level (and remote )but my technical was mostly conversational.
This is what I’m going to do. Do you have any tips? Can I dm?
Basically just be honest about what you can do but make sure to try to go above and beyond with your case study response and study up on anything you don't know as well. I feel like the technology they ask about is based on what they as an individual prefer as well as what's on your resume.
Buddy - Chase is one level of bureaucracy and toxicity ofcourse. But this is the same or worst. Grass is not greener here. It's bipolar and wanna be an amazon lol. You'll see.
Wish this people can pay as much as Amazon pays.
This is not what I’ve heard. I’ve heard it’s super laid back with not much work. But tbf I can’t commute 3 hours a day 5 days a week. That’s no sustainable. Plus my manager straight up tanked my internal performance metric because of his own politics. I can’t even apply internally because no other manager would hire me
I work at Chase now and worked at Vanguard. WLB and Manager for me at Chase is better. I’m p sure everything is just Manager and Team dependent.
My manager at chase is horrendous. Never on time and has way too much on his plate. He also tanked my performance review because of corporate politics and bs
Case study is scenerio based question, behavior pretty standard technical no leet code style. also Why vanguard. if ur laid off then thats okay.
I wasn’t laid off but my manager is toxic af. My comp got slashed this year because of politics and I’ve heard good things about vanguard Plus chase is aiming for full rto and I live 1.5 hours away from the office so it’s not sustainable. Vanguard commute is less than half that time
makes sense. vanguard has really good wlb but dont really have any career progression or comp rise.
