They are supposedly a Unicorn startup in the ML/AI space focusing on fraud detection. But they are a Portuguese company so TC is low. I am wondering if anyone has any knowledge about TC, culture, WLB? Would it be a worthwhile place to gain some ML experience?

I am applying for DS after a contact from the company. So not SWE.
While I personally like the DS team - my advice is to stay away - you will at best make a decent living but this is a tough company to work at - personally, even though I work there I would be interested knowing how they came up with a unicorn status
Nuno Sebastio (CEO) locked down a Series D round investment from KKR that edged over $200mil. That combined with the other $50mil in VC money gave it a valuation a little over 1bil. Feedzai is an entry level stepping stone. Unless you live in Portugal. There are plenty of great American companies that arnt lead by EU carpet baggers. Their best days are behind them. It’s just a private owned company now and the leaders are too old to do anything new or interesting. It’ll never go public and if it did it wouldn’t be worth anything. Stronger companies in that space out paced them a long time ago.
