Best Tech/Defense Comapny?
Looking to leave MSFT. I've got a TS/SCI clearance and want to leverage it in my job search. Looking to find any not well know defense companies. Or companies that need cleared engineers. Targeting mid level SWE roles mostly. They don't need to be hiring at the moment, just want them on my radar. Some companies already on my list: Striveworks Anduril Scale AI C3 AI Palantir Databricks? MSFT Amazon Oracle Any others I may have missed? I don't want to go to Amazon or Oracle (I'm mostly tired of cloud and ops work). TC: 160k yoe: 3 #techdefense #cleared #swe

French, but Thales announced they’re planning to hire a few thousand more people.

What level are you? I'm expecting a cleared MSFT SWE offer soon and wondering what I can expect TC wise
Scale has been good on the defense side. We don’t have nearly the same WLB challenges that are show up on our commercial side. Largely bc we are still driven by government time tables.
Looks like pay is pretty good. Are all cleared roles in DC? Looks like not many open roles for SWEs, especially cleared. How is morale? Wondering if they might lay off soon.
We just did layoffs and the promise was they went deep so it wouldn’t happen again. Cleared jobs are DC and St. Louis or anywhere else if you are willing to travel. Morale is pretty good. We work on some really neat things, and closely with the customers.
Have a couple of buddies at Anduril and they really enjoy it.
Heard the WLB is pretty bad. Even worse for the cleared SWEs that need to travel. Any truth to that?
Heard it's not terrible when they're home, but yeah those who travel spend a lot of time on the road.

I know people at anduril and striveworks and they speak pretty highly on both. Sounds like they’re tough to get into if you don’t know somebody or come from a top tech company/HFT
Why not Oracle?
Heard it has bad culture. Especially OCI.
