Why Worshipping Lord Ram Important in Hinduism?
How does a PIP alter the manager-report relationship? Is the manager essentially burning a bridge?
Can cut both ways. Being humane is the one thing which doesn’t require skill or training. So I’d exercise compassion & respect. Teams in offices are very similar to sport teams. High performance keeps one continue as a member.
I don’t think most companies can afford to follow that Netflix formula. Most people are not in sports team and most teams don’t require 24:7 high stress environment. Humans are not meant to work like that.
When I say sports team, it can be a local soccer club. Needn’t be a celebrated world class team. Think someone plays poor, would your local coach have them continue in the team? Also, Stress == Stake. People need to balance. Personally I prefer to optimise for better sleep.
One of my managers was a super dick and also fired few people. Me and my colleagues from that company were able to block him from getting hired in our teams at current company. I can’t blocklist in entire company but I try my best to not let them get hired by voicing my opinion whenever I can.
It’s pretty serious. I know this one (extreme) story of an Amazon manager PIP’ing his direct report, who got pissed off and chose to leave Amazon(instead of going through the PIP). He (the guy who left Amazon) later reached out to all his connections in the tech industry and managed to blacklist his former manager at almost every single big tech company. That manager has since been laid off from Amazon, unable to find a job at any reputable company bc he found himself blacklisted basically everywhere.
I don’t know if this is true but this is a great demonstration of how powerful connections are and how you can use it to your advantage.
Right there with you. The story itself does seems rather extreme, but true nonetheless.
