Take home assignment at Nerdwallet initial coding round
Hi, I’m going to interview for a Senior SE and received a take home assignment. Any ideas on what topics they focus on?
It appears to vary based on the group or there, doesn't seem to be a consistent process across engineering.
Is this a Codingame assessment? I think I had the exact same thing recently. How did it turn out for you?
I think I did pretty well, though I was not able to solve one of the questions completely as I couldn’t code a corner case. For the other question, except for a couple of unit tests all the tests passed. I haven’t heard back from the recruiter, so I’m guessing they moved on. It’s insane to ask candidates to solve 2 medium-hard problems within 1.5 hrs. What about your experience?
I agree; this one was very tough to solve in 1.5 hours. It even suggested 90 minutes for the 1st question and 25 for the 2nd question (which is 2 hours 😂 like, what...?). Anyway, yeah, I kinda did my best with it...I got everything I could find to pass, but who knows. I took mine last week and I haven't heard yet, but we'll see.
