internal transfer mathworks. have an offer at the HQ in MA but would like to move to a warmer region eventually.
Software development is slowly being offshored to India and Europe though. Is Bangalore warm enough for you, OP?
Haha.. I'm a Bangalorean but aren't y'all working in cutting edge tech here?
Are you asking whether we’re working on cutting edge tech at all, or whether we’re doing it all in us? Answer is no.
TC?

Speaking of h1b. When do they initiate the perm process?
AFAIK you are eligible after completing one year in the company.
1) Most dev in USA is in Natick. Exception is some automotive industry work in Novi. So "warmer location" not really an option. 2) All negging aside, a lot MathWorks products are cutting edge. The Banglore and Hyderabad offices are working on interesting problems in hardware, automated driving etc. But in Natick as well there are hundreds of good teams. 3) GC/ perm process, in my understanding is something that may not start immediately since the general policy is that they want to be sure you are a good performer. I know of people who started the process within a year of joining. I know of people who took a little longer.
Completely agree! This is accurate. MW Offices around the globe (UK, France, Bangalore , HYD, Novi) are all working on interesting problems, lot of them are cutting edge, so if you are in the development organization there is a high probability that you will be working on interesting stuff
Funny how HR comments always come in pairs.

If it’s a tech role, most of us are located here in Natick. Don’t have much presence outside! Congrats.
