Job market is brutal for SWEs 🥲
Planning to start new job in February, probably the first week of the month. I’m expecting that the day I tell my manager will be my last day with Microsoft since the new company is a competitor. Planning to tell around Jan 15 and then start at new company Feb 1 or Feb 15. Assuming Jan 15 is my last day at Microsoft, is MS health insurance going to cover me until Feb 1 or Feb 15? Am I considered no longer employed on Jan 15? Sorry this has been asked before - the previous posts on here are from a while ago. #microsoft #healthcare #health #offer #quit #benefits
Your insurance will expire on the day you leave microsoft . They gave me a quote for extending the insurance by paying money but I started the next week itself on my new job so dint end up extending
It will stop on the last day of your employment. But you will be given the opportunity to pay from your pocket for the insurance and continue the same benefits if you want.
hi OP, now that it's been almost two years since you posted, can you please provide answers to your questions? I want to know as well if you get to keep your insurance until the end of the month you resign in
Usually companies pay out the notice paid and you retain benefits for that period. I’m sure someone can confirm this is how MS operates. It’s how it worked at Amazon.
The same in MS. confirmed last week
