Lets say Im working in one of big companies like Amazon in Seattle, USA and making 250k TC. If I move to Vancouver but still work for Amazon, how much should I make in canadian dollars to maintain the same standard of living that I have in the US #canada #us #salary #amazon
Amazon Vancover pays more than 200k CAD for SDE2. Amazon might be the highest pay in Canada
Same in CAD ; so 220k-250k CAD
Would not be a problem if husband wife both work.
Thanks everyone for your comments
So what was your conclusion..I am also trying to get more data on it
To purchase a house or to rent an aprtment? On a stretched budget About 200k tc for a house in seattle About 300k tc for a house in bay About 300k tc for a house in vancouver
Oh boy..depends how you live. Family? Single? Home? Luxury car? Canada is a lot more expensive in general and pay is significantly less + weak currency make toys expensive.
Canada is a lot more expensive in general - No, have you lived in a Canadian city? CoL is lower even in the most expensive city e.g. Vancouver. Unless you're buying a property, then yes. For renters it holds true in any city. Canada's pay is 40-50% less after exchanging currency though, so overall if you live a frugal lifestyle you'd save much more in the States.
lol no..
