There is a runnin joke in my group of friends that no one has any any idea what I do. When I attempt to explain the nuances of systems engineering, I get nods then eyes glaze over then they start asking why Apple doesn’t innovate and start pitching product ideas. I need some way to convey what I do that normal people can grasp where I don’t look like I can’t explain what I do. Tech literacy is so low I don’t know how to do this. tl;dr how do you explain your career to normal people where it sounds interesting TC 300k
Say that you add a camera to the iPhone and then increase the price by x percent based on a light-up spinning wheel.
Maybe I write the instructions that tell commuters what to do?
You don’t. Tell them the TC, rest is details. Ain’t nobody got time for that.
With that TC u don't have to. Just buy new homies, and make them dance.
Tell them that all Apple employees are just a front for an intelligent AI, and you don't actually do anything all day, except for maintaining the ruse
People aren't good at nuances unless they really want to understand. Surface level explanation, tldr, are fine for most.
no one has patience for it
Unless they care
I heard you work at Apple so pls make a foldable iPhone and add camera to Apple Watch
i want a roll up phone plz
Obviously I’m a “IT techie dude” who fixes printers
What do you actually do ? I also don't understand what you do, other than being able to explain the nuances of systems engineering to non-tech/non-interested folks 😁
TL; DR
Tc and tldr added
Ah, read it now. Idk, dont bother explaining, just mention tc
