how to explore PM opportunities

hello Blind community ... I am currently not a PM but trying to become one. I have relevant experience and education background - including computer-science engineering degree, software engineering work experince, followed by MBA, and management consulting+ product strategy work experience after MBA. My question is how shall i seek PM opportunities and position myself in front of the receuiters/hiring managers. Not having much luck with the linkedin roles. thanks in advance!

Why do you want to become a Project Manager?

Maybe that is why he’s not getting hired. He doesn’t know the difference

Reach out to internal teams to get some experience. Very few companies want PM’s without experience.

Hard to get a PM role without having it on your resume. Go to an early-stage startup where they're willing to take more risk. A year of experience and you can move on to a medium-size startup if the small startup hasn't turned into one yet.

Agree with the other posters. Try to get an adjacent role at a company where you can transfer internally after you build relationships with a product team/PM hiring manager.

And get your PMP certification. You do need relevant experience to get certified, but I worked at a Fortune 500 company that made a lot of their tech leads get their PMP and they didn’t have “real” project management experience. I’m not a fan of this certification and there are plenty of sub par PMs out there with it, but lots of companies look for it.

That kind of sucks!! Anyone from Adobe who has moved into a PM role without pm background?
