I'm curious about this too. I'm actually wondering if it's not a bad deal, being rate locked, benefits until 67, etc.

Take it as this benefit is tax free as well since you're paying with post-tax money.

I took it. Disability insurance can be expensive but also really valuable if you need it. And like you said, the benefit is tax free.
