So i finished the three hour coding project friday. Got the correct response, created docunentation, basically pretty proud of what i did with it. It wasnt hard. So...whats the process look like next? SWE - product was the role but the leveling and location (assumed boston/cambridge) were unclear #software #engineering #recruiting #hubspot
Hubspot has a slide deck about their core values, the recruiters and the managers like to hear how great that slide deck is. Glassdoor gives a very accurate picture of the interview to follow. Do whatever is on Glassdoor and you should be able to crack hubspot.
What questions in sql assessment?
How much do senior engineers get paid? Do they offer RSU’s?
Levels.fyi and Glassdoor are fairly accurate for comp. RSUs are offered; at least when I interviewed you were allowed to choose the blend of your comp (I.e. heavy on RSUs or cash). https://www.levels.fyi/comp.html?track=Software%20Engineer&search=HubSpot
Got it, looks good!
The interviewer will set up an interview slate where you’ll talk to a handful of different people (3-4 engineers and the hiring manager, usually). They’ll ask you technical (design this system and coding) and non technical questions (tell me about a time when...). Depending on your experience and preferences (title, comp) you may be evaluated for both SWE and SSWE and based on how you do in the interview, you’ll slot in at one of those levels. The recruiter you’re working with should share basically the same info, probably in the next convo you have with them.
They specifically said I passed the challenge but I won’t be moving on. This was after asked some pretty specific questions. It was a hard no, and I got answers to 0 of my like ...2 questions? Is this common?
I had a similar experience, but I made it to the on site. Did really well, but I don't think I was "hubspotty" enough for them. I also tried asking about work from home options and the interview shifted gears pretty quick after that.. they apparently really value people being in the office even though they're in a really awful spot for commuters. end of the green line. I'm guessing with the pandemic things have changed a bit but who knows for how long. Also if you read "Disrupted" take it with a grain of salt but the author pretty much makes them sound like a cult. I doubt it's THAT bad but generally when people complain there's at least some truth behind it. I might give them another shot some day but I'll be shooting for the infrastructure teams. in my experience back end engineers tend to be more flexible and less "drink the koolaid-y"
It took 2.5 weeks for them to get back to me after completing the coding assessment. After about 2 weeks, I reached out since I hadn't heard anything. A few days later I'm now scheduling time for the full loop interview.
Hey. Can anyone tell me the recent questions that has been asked in entry level software engineering interview? I know there are 2 rounds- coding and system design. But what questions?
What were the questions like ?
One leetcode simple question and 1 system design question

I passed the online test Then a recruiter called me and asked why I wanted to work for Hubspot and what Hubspot does I said "...uh...it's in digital marketing?" Generic rejection email a week later. So make sure you know what Hubspot does before the recruiter reaches out to you. Frankly I still don't know.
I just had that experience lol, weird af considering they even asked my schedule for the onsite loop.
Dude, digital marketing? 😅
