I have a React-Native app I built with Expo about 3 years ago and would like to try to upgrade it and get it on the latest SDKs and toolset. I'm sort of at a loss on how to tackle this given how many breaking changes there must have been since 3 years ago in expo and react-native. Any React-Native/Expo gurus can offer advice on how you would do this if you were in my shoes? Obviously I can try to hunt down all the breaking changes in documentation, but I'm asking if there is a more efficient way to upgrade old RN/Expo apps that I might not know about. Code mods? Specific step by step instructions when upgrading from really old versions of RN/Expo? How would you go about this if you had to do the same thing? #react-native #mobile
i just made a React native/expo app myself and I let the cli handle all dependencies updates. it does a pretty good job of figuring out the right versions needed for the app, but i haven’t taken tried with a 3 year break. DM me if you need help, i also work at c1
Interesting. Will have to explore that option and see how it plays out. Thanks for the offer to help.
Good luck
lol, yeah that's pretty much what I expected. have no idea how I'm going to get this done.
