I have offers for Google (GCP) and Amazon (Ads) intern. People seem to agree Google is better for WLB and salary. However, most important for me is the chance of getting a return offer for full-time. I interned at Amazon last summer and if I were to intern again I would probably have a high chance of RO. Google seems like a risk, especially since interns->ft need to go through a product alignment stage and RO% might be low. I don't really know market conditions for either company. Is Google much riskier than Amazon? Is the risk worth it?
Google is ads sweetshop, go to real tech Amazon
Traditionally return offers are easier at Amazon, but the economic landscape might change things. I’d imagine it’s still easier at Amazon though. It’s low-risk low-reward relatively speaking. I do think that amongst the recent bad PR Google is still the better company and better brand name on your resume going forward
Intern at Google. With both those on your resume your odds of landing a job either from return offer or another offer will be much higher.
