Don't join Apple. One of the worst companies to work for as the management there doesn't trust your work nor respects your opinion doesn't want you to innovate and discard your years of technical experience and asks you to follow a bullshit incapable M1 who don't know basics. I am on internal Apple blind and this has been the sentiment of many. It's toxic to work here. I personally know 5 ICT5s that quit after a year. It's a top down company you will be miserable. Many who stay there are average performers at other companies.
I vouch this đŻ
We all know about ABA 1. Anything But Amazon 2. Anything But Apple
But all you can get into is those both lol or probably just 1
Not likely. My friend moved to Apple and blames Apple now. And... I'm moving to one of FAANG soon as a senior engineer. Note that it's ABA in FAANG. Only ABA in my life after this time. Maybe... all you can get into is those both lol probably just 1.
Then why do they show so much attitude while interviewing? Some of the folks literally want to show off how smart they are đ
I will work with a traditional semiconductor company in a heart beat that has established processes. There are folks working here since their 1st job 10 years ago and they have never launched a working prototype into production. All projects of theirs never went into production and now they are managers. Imagine they thinking they are best without slightest idea of outside world and working prototype?
Itâs because FAANG leadership has reinforced consistently that youâre a âtop performerâ if youâre at FAANG and it has gotten in their head. Youâll see the same at other FAANG as well.
The products are pretty good though. Apple silicone is light years ahead of the competition.
That's not because of quality of engineering. Apple throw money đ° on top of the line process nodes and simulation tools and manufacturing processes from vendors. There is nothing cutting edge of their actual engineering. Where Apple wins is mechanical design and UX. Other vendors already light years ahead with flex phones and China is no longer wooed by iPhone so đ¤ˇââď¸
So Qualcomm and others don't spend money to get the best processes? And afaik the simulation tools are pretty much industry standard, what tools do you mean? Not trying to argue at all btw I'm actually asking so maybe I can be more informed.
I vouch for this.
can confirm
10000000000% absolutely correct! I can confirm this is the case in AI/ML under Ke Yang's org. Horrible M1s.
I see the same pattern. I just play the game and wait for the right moment to switch teams or jump to a new company. Apple is filled with pompous boomers that have done nothing substantial working there for 10+ years.
no they dont
Probably largely depends on the team...
The folks that left are from varied teams and Apple blind is echoing the same sentiment from many ICs. Can't be coincidence.
