I have an interview with Carta as an SRE coming up and was hoping you guys could answer a few questions. What’s SRE work like at Carta? Is it interesting or just typical ops with code? Will it help me grow as an engineer? Also what’s the culture/WLB like on those teams and in general? Finally would you recommend working in Carta? YoE: 3.5 TC: 140
It’s a bad company, nobody can focus on one thing longer than 1-3 months. Constantly shifting focus, looking for fast money but ended up with no real results. Data tracking is horrendous and spaghetti code everywhere. Trust me, this company is going to fail.
What are you still doing here? If you’re a good engineer or better than the others creating this mess you’re saying u are capable of interview and go anywhere else. We surely have work to do but which company doesn’t?
Another issue at Carta, when you are saying the truth, some people clearly do not want to accept it and would lash out at you. This is evident here. I am just being truthful and sharing my perspective.
Carta is an amazing place to work. The best I worked so far as an Engineer. SRE here is more a DevOps role here though. I am not in the SRE org, but I know they are a great team. Very supportive people. They are very understaffed and it is not very easy dealing with the current state of our infrastructure and technology. However, it has been significantly improving since last year.
How’s TC for 15 YoE?
