How come there's a 1080p/4K video that was uploaded in 2009?

* not job related post * general question * Let’s say the music video for U Can’t Touch This - MC Hammer was uploaded in 2009 at 1080p, yet YouTube didn't support that good quality then, nor was in common use. It seems like this video has somehow been updated. Can anyone explain? Do vevo has some special access that can update the original uploaded video to newly edited file like normal folks update their video thumb. It’s been a doubt for long randomly thought about it now. They can update assets without updating metadata. Vevo's delivery choreography is based off the delivery choreograph for music videos that DDEX manages. It doesn't require a full takedown to update something like video format.
