Immigration 101

Here are some helpful suggestions in comments. Stop asking same questions over and over again. Feel free to add more or correct the mentioned ones. As always, take these advice with a grain of salt. Talk to an attorney to get the best advice.

It's not okay to transfer just on H1B receipt. You're risking it with 9/11 rule.

Time will tell. I honestly don't know if it's spreading FUD or shrewd advice. But take this one with a grain of salt

I agree. It is always preferable to ask an attorney. Will add that to the description.

If you are on STEM OPT/OPT, and if your H1B gets denied after an RFE - no need to panic. You can use your STEM OPT/OPT.

Tired of seeing the same questions and trying to answer the same thing at every single place. Everyone is annoyed with the same question.

It is not recommended to travel when your H1B transfer is in process.

If you transfer your H1B and your petition gets denied. You can keep continuing for your current H1B.

F5 Networks cardib OP Sep 6, 2018

As long as you don't quit your current job on the existing H1B right?

Qualcomm To-go pls Sep 6, 2018

I assumed that yes.

Even after your H1B transfer to the new company gets approved. You can legally keep working for your current company and totally ignore the new petition. Ofcourse there are consequences (such as being blacklisted by the new company) but not aware of any immigration or legal consequences
