I have interviewed for design/verification/dft positions at apple during past 3yrs. just got an offer recently. I think I am the right person to answer your question. Generally speaking, apple interview are very detail oriented, you have to understand and be able to talk about your work, and be prepare for follow up questions. That doesnt means that You need to memorize any statistics or very detail of you work, but at least you need to know the idea and methodology and “Why”. This is Apple’s interview culture, their interview is difficult to prepare because it’s more focused on your past experience. Having said that, it’s also very important to understand how to communicate, make sure you understand their question, and lay down your ideal solution to them, then implement it if needed. All the best to yo
This is a very good answer. I joined Apple recently too. Most interviewers just asked things off on top of their head. Like you said you use fifo in your design for cdc, OK, so explain it. You have this operating corners blah blah to tape out your design why? Why this specific temp voltage process but not that? Explain it. Many many rounds of interview like that? They don't care what commands/tools you used to do certain tasks, they want to see if you understand the core concept of everything.
