I am super grateful for my offer. I am going to send all this money to my family so I am trying to maximize it. Thanks for understanding

Nothing wrong in maximizing your chances for better TC.

You have some heavy strong quant firms in there, are they for quant research or developer role ? But wow 75K sign on bonus... is this in cash lol

Facebook 93?ienc$/9 OP Sep 20, 2019

They would be for developer roles. And yes it is cash

drw and Chicago trading won’t match in raw numbers but depending on their bonus structure and whether you’re swe or trading you could be making more than/comparable to fb in terms of cost of living. Rent and basic costs are cheaper in Chicago so you could see yourself saving similar amounts and living with comparable or better quality of life at some of these funds

+1! Good 1st yr quant traders can make >$500K TC in a good year (such as last year). Also, seems like you are a great candidate for trading firms. Try other trading firms in Chicago too: IMC, Citadel, Optiver, Akuna, and etc.. The cultures at trading firms can be drastically different.

Thanks for posting! I am hesitant to pursue quant roles now because I think a recession will hit soon and I think that’s a bad role to be in during that time. Odds are stacked against you vs they’ll be for 5 years out

I heard palantir pays a lot but they have a weird culture. Quant jobs might pay better, especially over time. Congrats!

Microsoft sjai Sep 20, 2019

Palantir pays pretty averagely. If you don’t value the options you’re looking at around the 160k

Why don't you talk to the recruiters and tell them about your FB offer. Let them decide if they want a chance to interview you and beat the FB offer?

Facebook 93?ienc$/9 OP Sep 20, 2019

I tell them I have an FB offer. Should I tell them the numbers and ask if they can beat it before even interviewing?

Amazon xkfmfjxks Sep 20, 2019

ofc u should, good recruiters will ask u first then say don’t bother if they can’t beat

Google cigsinside Sep 20, 2019

DRW and Palantir maybe?

Indeed rainwater Dec 29, 2019

you picked some interesting companies alright. not likely any of them will beat ur fb offer but they all could if you have the right stuff. doesn't hurt to talk to them
