Intuit is not allowing full-time work from home and wants people to come to their California offices. It's currently a hybrid work model with 1-2 days in the office. How can I delay going to the office to save on rent and California state income taxes? Also, let's say that I am in California for one day of the week for work reasons. Then for the rest of the days, I am in another state. Do I pay California state income tax on one or all of the days? TC: 130 YOE: 2
Many companies will adjust down your pay if you go full remote from a cheaper area. Allowing hybrid with 1 day in the office is very generous. You can easily move further away in California and still save on rent. A long commute a few times a month is not bad.
I think you are trying to optimize for the wrong thing with that TC
Move to Dallas. No income tax. Intuit has an office there.
Theyâre probably trying to force attrition, but they probably canât force you to live in CA. Donât you have software to help you figure out this question?
How would they force attrition? I did look into it and just want to see confirmation within the blind community.
Requiring people to be in office will move some people to leave on their own for 100% remote roles. Helps lower the business costs if they donât rehire to fill those openings.
