considering an offer at a startup. smart leadership, strong product. the move will put me in a non-dev role as a solutions consultant but allows me to work much closer with leadership and executives. my current role is plateauing with uncertainty for progression due to inconsistent direction from management. takinf the offer will be a slight bump in base + commission + paper equity. overall, lateral move financially. this does go against my rule of not taking on undue risk without substantially more pay. so do i stay or go? Think of it this way... Lateral move but big comp jump. Or opportunity to grow and develop yourself professionally and open up substantially larger comp possibilities down the road.
All he needs to do is to leetcode to get a substantial comp bump. Resume or past projects don't matter as per my experience.
