i did a virtual onsite at AppDynamics last week. The hiring manager said I am a great fit and asked me about joining date, etc. HR later emailed me that she has very good feedback from all interviewers. but today, she called me to say that there is a freeze till the end of April because of the Coronavirus and economic uncertainities and we should discuss more then if you are still available. Is that a rejection, or genuine hiring freeze?
Definitely sounds like a genuine hiring freeze follow up at the end of appreciate... keeping the contact warm and the role is yours once’s this is all over
It would be a genuine one since no one will use covid 19 as an excuse, at-least not big companies.
For which role did you interview for?
It's not a freeze but they cant image Windows laptops due to not being able to come in site. They can ship Macs directly to the house but they are backlogged so all onboarding pushed to Apr 27th except with SVP approval showing business critical need

This is good to know. The recruiter said something similar about difficulty in onboarding.. i am getting hopeful! :)
That said, keep options open and keep looking. No one expected Covid-19 and global shutdown, but it happened. Just saying😀
There’s a genuine hiring freeze a bunch of exceptions. It only just came into being it was right away.
Makes sense in that case that they’d do the interviews and then inform of the delayed decision making

Hmm...not as familiar but I would def recommend stay warm. Last all hands we were told biz as usual for hiring.
I have heard any role not filling a critical need is currently on hold. Granted I am just a lowly worker bee, someone else will probably have better info.
