Hi, I am coming in as a new grad at JPMC and am wondering if due to the current economic climate will there be swe layoffs. Or are the SWE leaving JPMC in droves (due to rto) going to offset the layoffs ? For context I'll be on a digital tech team for CCB. I chose JPMC since high interest rates are good for banks and CCB will have credit card profit that scales with inflation. TC: 135k first year.
Location?
NYC
Jpm can’t keep and hire enough staff. Definitely safe.
CCB is a credit cards team? I was actually doing research on this to determine how recession proof Credit Karma is and I found a paper that stated JPM credit cards went from like 500M profit to losing 450M when 2008 recession hit Try googling "credit card usage during recessions" or smth
CCB is literally all of Chase. SWE here is very safe especially because of how much attrition there has been.
CCB stands for Consumer & Community Banking
no, if anything we can't hire enough
“I chose JPMC since high interest rates are good for banks and CCB will have credit card profit that scales with inflation” yea you are gone, sorry bud
JPM will be fine if you’re a SWE
Jpmc can't layoff SWE otherwise they won't have any SWE. It's hard to hire SWE
JPM doesn't do many large layoffs. One of the good things about this place
what was the break down of tc? 115 base 20 k bonus? curious how it has progressed since i got hired into sep program was 100 base 10k back then also nyc ccb. everyone is quitting in droves. culture issue is a lot larger than rto initiative , but it is apart of it.
I am also NYC they hired class of 2021 new grads at 100 base 10k sign on in Jan they acted like we all got promotions (in reality they were going to start bringing in seps at higher pay than us so kind of had to give us raise) so then went to 115 k 10k bonus (six months into job essentially) I am trying to gtfo of not only CCB but JPMC FOR LIFE worst company imo bad, bad experience internship was better lol
Not a good company to work for! I am here a year and half and not enjoying the strange culture!
CCB is good, no chance of layoffs, they need tons of people.
Any reasons why CCB is hiring alot and not other LOB like say AWM, GTI, etc ?
