Have mixed feelings after going through their interview. What do existing or former employees think of the place?
Is there anything particular that's giving you mixed feelings?
Joined in the last year. Eng org feels pretty lowkey. (Reasonable expectations and plenty of pressure to execute correctly rather than quickly.) Business is very driven to build revenue streams on top of what seems like a very successful biz model. No up-and-coming competition, so the core biz is gonna crush it. (Only limit is how fast we can grow) Per other commenter, I honestly wish we spent more cycles on growth/perf/financials than on social issues. (The all hands feel completely decoupled from the real work.)
Toxic work environment, Micromanagement, Favoritism are some of the words I’d use to describe Blend. I’ve witnessed all of these in my tenure so far.
I ended up passing on the interview. The team felt too corporate and not very diversity / pic friendly.
I’ll defer to others but when you introduce yourself make sure to have your pronouns ready
Could you elaborate? Would appreciate any thoughts or opinions you can share or dm me
I mean that quite literally. You will introduce yourself with all the other new hires “Hi my name is Foursquare I like long walks in the park. My pronouns are he/him/his” (or female or non-binary or.. whatever else exists). Should be indicative of the culture. Not saying it’s good or bad, just wanted to let you know if the recruiters haven’t clued you in
